TNAU gets patent for protein-based crop growth booster

The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here received the patent for the technological know-how for protein extraction for seed therapy and foliar spray software.

The Seed Centre of the TNAU conducted analysis to standardise seed therapy and foliar spray with ‘Protein Extract’ to increase crop expansion and efficiency.

The foliar spraying of protein extract one-one.five for every cent throughout pre-flowering and flowering stages, raising the crop produce by more than 15 for every cent across the crop spectrum, a TNAU press launch stated Friday.

When the protein extract was utilized by seed coating of forty -75 for every cent, seed germination of crop seeds enhanced by about six-8 for every cent and seedling dry issue enhanced by 10 – 15 for every cent.

Alternatively, pre-sowing soaking of the seeds in secondary protein solution of .five – .75 for every cent can be adopted to increase the seed germination by six-10 for every cent depending on crop seed.

The items were being launched as commercial organic expansion boosters as ‘NutriGold’ and ‘SeedAid.’

An software was filed for patent by the researchers for the freshly produced technological know-how which involves item growth procedure of protein extract for seed therapy and foliar spray to make improvements to crop efficiency and soon after correct assessment, patent was granted, the launch stated.
