Govt bans onion exports to check high prices

Exports of all types of onions, excluding people that are slash, sliced or in powder variety, have been banned by the governing administration on Monday, with immediate outcome, in a shift to verify spiralling costs in the neighborhood industry.

The Directorate Standard of Overseas Trade, in a notification, specified that export of onions, which was so significantly no cost, is now prohibited. “The provisions beneath transitional arrangement shall not be relevant beneath this notification,” it included.

In Delhi, onion costs have been ruling at a substantial of about ₹ forty for every kilogram, creating discontentment amongst potential buyers.
