Seed Industries Affiliation of Maharashtra has demanded that the State govt should rethink its conclusion to file law enforcement conditions from seed organizations on farmers’ complaints about early germination failure of Soyabean seeds. It demanded that the govt should appoint a committee to probe germination failure.
The affiliation President Ajeet Mulay in a the latest letter to State Agriculture Commissioner explained filing FIRs from seed organizations will consequence in very long term adverse consequences. “Already the seed business is shifting to neighbouring States. This shifting of organizations to other States will achieve momentum if this problem (filing of conditions from organizations) prevails,” he explained.
Share of non-public seed organizations in seed distribution in Maharashtra is about 60 per cent, in accordance to the business overall body, which represents 77 seed organizations. It has attributed a variety of explanations together with sowing time for failure of early germination.
