At the Next auction performed by Coonoor Tea Trade Affiliation (CTTA) to mark the Intercontinental Tea Working day (ITD) as aspect of celebrations with the Tea Board, some selling price records were being set up.
“All teas bought in this auction were being generated with the eco-friendly leaf harvested on ITD (May possibly 21). In all, four,043 kg was offered of which, three,468 kg was bought. This meant that about 85.seventy eight per cent of the offer was bought. The common selling price was ₹222.04 a kg,” CTTA Chairman L Vairavan, instructed BusinessLine.

Amongst orthodox teas, Havukal tea, auctioned by J Thomas and Co Pvt Ltd., topped when Siewert and Dholakia Abroad Pvt Ltd., bought it for ₹1,510 a kg. Kodanad Speciality Tea acquired ₹531.
Darmona Estate’s Red Dust, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing (SI) P Ltd., topped the CTC teas on offer when Nisha Enterprises bought it for ₹415 a kg. “This is a history selling price for us simply because it is the highest selling price fetched for any grade of our teas considering the fact that production commenced in our manufacturing facility 37 several years ago,” Darmona’s Running Spouse Dinesh Raju said.
Homedale Estate’s Damaged Pekoe, auctioned by Worldwide Tea Brokers, topped the CTC Leaf teas on offer when Shree Ganesh Tea Trading Co., bought it for ₹411 a kg. “Since production commenced in our manufacturing facility 72 several years ago, this is the highest selling price fetched for any grade of our teas,” Homedale’s Running Spouse Raman Menon said.
