Iraq Base Housing American Troops Hit by New Strike, Sustaining Tensions
BAGHDAD—Rockets struck an Iraqi base housing American troops on Saturday, decreasing any expectations of de-escalation soon after U.S. strikes on an Iran-backed militia in reaction to the killing of two of its troops at the same base this week.
At minimum 25 rockets fell on Camp Taji early Saturday, wounding a few U.S. provider associates, two of them severely, U.S. officers stated. Two associates of the Iraqi air drive command had been also gravely wounded in the strike, an Iraqi military services spokesman stated.
