St Aldhelms Church OrganOur organ was built by J G Haskins & Co of St Paul’s Bristol.
The firm was owned by two brothers Arthur and William Keyes who were proprietors, designers and builders. Their factory was destroyed in the blitz of 1940 so records are few and far between. The brothers came from a family of organ builders; their father was senior designer for Vowles of Bristol. The brothers Keyes served their apprenticeship with this firm and worked for them until they set up their own business and were building their own church organs by 1910.
The firm J G Haskins & Co produced about one major organ per year. Their clients Included churches, chapels and grand country houses in and around the West Country, and as far as Exmoor and Wales. Facts and Figures
